Before we get all “professional” and “buttoned up”. I should let you know, that's NOT my therapeutic style. I'm very laid back, sit with my feet in the chair, work untraditional hours (nights and weekends).
I will also encourage things like saying "F$%#!" Because I believe Therapy should be the ONE place you can feel free to speak and share without a filter. Cussing is not a reflection of you or your character when expressing deep feelings and emotions, but instead a freedom to speak completely unfiltered, so we can do the real work.
My therapeutic approach to counseling incorporates various strength based therapeutic techniques that I strongly believe in; such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and Motivational Interviewing.Sessions are always person centered and depending on the interests of the consumer. I will utilize different types of tools to assist in the therapeutic process such as drawing, art, writing, journaling, music, clay, animals, games, and CBT activities to encourage new skills acquisition, incorporating psychoeducational as well Animal assisted therapy when appropriate
I feel that counseling is a joint effort, which can not be successful without your hard work, energy and courage. People seek counseling for different reasons; regardless of these reasons, I believe an enhanced sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations (this includes how past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves, as well as how we relate to others) I want therapy to be a safe place for you to explore yourself, including reactions, thoughts, and feelings about people in your life. Counseling sessions should allow you the opportunity to practice new ways of interacting and functioning.
I have a dual Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and Education. I'm Nationally board recognized as Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I have worked as a Counselor since 2010 with Addictions and Mental Health clients. Ive worked in an inpatient crisis and detox center, and spent many years working with the developmentally disabled population. My heart has always been in the business of helping others. Trust, respect, safety and *authenticity* seem to be the most vital components to any relationship, especially the therapeutic relationship. My personal philosophies encourage my therapeutic approach of providing a warm and safe environment where you feel like you can be YOU, in an atmosphere of no judgment. This is of the utmost importance to me in working with my clients. I respect honesty and ensure to provide you the same so that you grow.

If you are a member of a HMO, PPO, or some type of managed health care plan, I can tell you if I am an authorized provider of services under that Plan. If I am an authorized provider, services will be provided to you under the terms of that plan’s contract. Fees will be billed and collected according to the requirements of that plan. If I am not an authorized provider, you may still receive services from me for a fee, but your plan may not reimburse you for the cost of any of my services. Plans often will reimburse for only a limited number of visits per year. If you exceed that limit, you may still receive services from me, but your plan will not reimburse you for the cost of services that exceed their maximum number of visits. Health Insurance companies usually require that I diagnose your mental health condition and indicate that you have an illness before they will agree to reimburse you. Your diagnosis will become a part of your client’s record. In the event a diagnosis is required, I will inform you of the diagnosis I plan to render before I submit it to a health insurance company.
You may pay by Cash or Debit/Credit Card. The fee is to be paid at the beginning of each session. If you are filing insurance, you will need to be responsible for verifying authorization of counseling services and finding out your Copay and Coinsurance fee for each visit. Please note that the fee for each session is $175.00
****Appointments may be successfully canceled as late as 24 hours prior to the scheduled time, otherwise you will be charged $75.00 for the time reserved for you. It will be your responsibility to reschedule any missed or canceled appointments.
